Katey Cooper is a lifelong Delaware County resident, first-generation college student, entrepreneur, and proud senior at Ball State University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is on track to graduate in December 2026 with Magna Cum Laude honors. A four-time Dean's List student, Katey is an active member of BSU’s Women’s Club, Mortar Board Honor Society, and the Gen:i Innovation & Leadership Cohort, where she continues to develop her passion for leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact. During her year of service she’s also had the honor of representing Ball State as an Indianapolis 500 Festival Princess, serving as an ambassador throughout Central Indiana.

 

At 20 years old, Katey founded Loads of Love Laundry Service, a local business created to provide convenient laundry solutions while creating meaningful employment opportunities in Muncie. She later expanded that vision by launching the CLEAN Start Initiative (Community Laundry Empowerment And Necessities), a community service movement focused on restoring dignity and hope through access to clean clothing, hygiene resources, and essential household necessities. Since its founding, CLEAN Start has provided more than 17,000 pounds of sponsored laundry to individuals and families across Indiana while building partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations.

 

As Miss Ball State University, Katey's mission is to be a light in her community while strengthening the connection between Ball State University and the Muncie community. She believes that when students and community members come together in service, both are stronger. Through volunteerism, public speaking, nonprofit partnerships, and community engagement, she strives to inspire others to lead with compassion, serve with purpose, and recognize that practical acts of care can create lasting change.

 

Katey is deeply proud to call Muncie home. As a lifelong Delaware County resident, she is passionate about pouring into the community that has given her so much. Whether representing Ball State at local events, partnering with organizations throughout Delaware County, speaking to students, or volunteering alongside fellow community members, she is committed to celebrating the people and places that make Muncie such a special place to call home.

 

Representing Ball State University is Katey's greatest honor. She is incredibly thankful to serve as an advocate and representative for Ball State students and Muncie residents alike, using her platform to celebrate the Cardinal spirit of service, leadership, and community.
